Barbeque Grill Covers
1) How will Montana® grill covers protect my grill?
Montana® grill covers protect your grill from environmental damage caused by rain, snow, ice, mold, mildew, ultraviolet rays, acid rain, etc. Additionally, some of our grill covers are ventilated, allowing air to freely flow through and preventing the build up of damaging condensation. This prevents your barbeque from prematurely rusting.
2) What is the warranty on Montana® grill covers?
All Montana® grill covers come with a warranty to guarantee your satisfaction. However, the length of the warranty varies from cover to cover. Please refer to the packaging for the length of your warranty. If you have any questions, please contact us.
Barbeque Mats
1) Why do I need a grill mat?
When grilling food, it's normal for the grease to spill down through the inside of the barbeque. However, these spills can cause unsightly stains on your deck or patio, which will never completely come out if you wash it. A grill mat is a simple, clean solution to this problem.
2) Will this grill mat skid once I've placed it underneath my barbeque?
No. Montana® grill mats are made with non-skid, leak proof vinyl that will ensure your deck or patio is protected from stains caused by grill spills.
Smokerin™ Smoker Box Set
1) How do I use the Smokerin™ smoker box?
Place wood chips in the Smokerin™ smoker box, close the lid and use the handle to place it on the grill or directly on the burner deflector bars. The Smokerin™ can also be placed directly on hot charcoal. Once smoking, move the Smokerin™ smoker box to the top of the grill for slow smoking. For the best smoke flavour, cook with the lid closed.
2) What makes the Smokerin™ better than any other smoker box on the market?
What separates the Smokerin™ smoker box from the rest of the pack is its durability and innovative design. Custom-made with 304 heavy gauge stainless steel, our patented smoker has a one-of-a-kind handle and locking system that makes it easy to use, clean and store. Its compact oval shape allows it to fit between the burner deflector bars of most gas grills or rest comfortably on burning charcoal. Special draft and flow-through ventilation systems maximize the amount of smoke your chips produce, while ensuring that the chips won't catch fire, which would unevenly cook your food, compromise the flavor and burn through your wood chip supply too quickly.
Smoking Chips
1) Why should I use smoking chips when grilling?
Smoking chips improve your barbeque experience by adding aromatic smoked flavour to your food.
2) Should I always soak my smoking chips?
How you use your smoking chips is a matter of preference. We recommend that you soak your smoking chips so that they will take longer to burn, producing more smoke. Soaking your smoking chips has the added benefit of providing additional flavour to your food, depending on what type of liquid you soak the smoking chips in.
3) Are Montana® smoking chips safe for grilling?
Yes. When grilling, it is very important to avoid using any wood that has been chemically treated. Any chemical absorbed into the wood will saturate your food, putting your health at risk. Be assured that all Montana Grills smoking chips are 100% organic, pesticide free and safe for grilling.
4) How do I smoke my food on a gas grill?
Use the Smokerin™ smoker box. There is more information on the Smokerin™ Smoker Box Set on this page as well as the Smokerin™ and Products pages.
Grilling Planks
1) Why should I use a grilling plank on my barbeque?
Grilling planks improve your barbeque experience in several ways. The most important reason to use a grilling plank is for the aromatic flavour that will saturate your food. A grilling plank is also useful for holding delicate meats that would fall apart on the much less stable surface of the grill itself. Grilling planks also keep food moist and prevent burning.

4) What's the difference between direct and indirect grilling?
Direct and indirect grilling simply refers to where the food goes on the grill compared to where your heat and flame is coming from. Specifically, indirect grilling involves the food being placed to the side of your heat source. Generally, foods that cook quickly should be cooked directly, while foods that require longer cooking times and lower temperatures are better suited to indirect grilling.
